She's
a concoction of looks and style. Meet, Aishwarya
Sakhuja, the Miss India finalist who's soon
turning an anchor with Zoom's Cinema-Sensex.
The leggy lass has walked the ramp for every
popular label in India be it Neeta Lulla
or Vikram Phadnis.
As the model turned anchor gears up for
her first innings in tellywood, we get her
to talk about her style quotient during
the monsoons.
Know
your body:
Its utmost important to recognise your body
type and choose your clothes. Your clothes
can accentuate your curves and cuts the
obvious looking fat or flat.
The cuts and patterns should help you achieve
the desired look. Spend a day with a decent
designer; learn the trick and you won't
pick up a wrong garment again.
Try
to wear sleeveless clothes:
Rains make clothes stick to your body, so
wear sleeveless or short sleeved tops. Compliment
it with a knee length skirt or a capri pant.
If you are into wearing salwar kameez then
its best that you stick to chiffon and georgettes.
Cottons and saris will be very uncomfortable
as they do not dry faster. Keep your feet
open; do not wear shoes or sneakers. Instead
go for the latest floral and colourful plastic
or rubber chapples that are available on
the streets.
Stay
hygienic and smell good:
Wash your hands and feet with an antiseptic
soap if you commute by local transport.
The grime in your toes may force you to
get a frequent pedicure. The rain water
has a particular smell due to pollution,
it is important that you carry a perfume
or a deodorant with you always. Wash your
hair everyday and condition them thrice
a week, one can also go for a short crop
look. If you smell good and stay clean you
can beat the icky, sticky monsoon feeling.
Accessories
and make up: Rains are
the best time to get all the junk beads
out. Load your feet with anklets and Kadas
and you can add an armlet with your ganjee.
Don't over do it or avoid it. Heavy make
is a strict no; your liners and foundations
will get washed away, spoiling the look.
If you prefer smoky eyes then apply kajal.
Rain generally keeps the face fresh looking
and to add to the softness apply a lip balm.
Use waterproof watches and eye glasses for
sheer style.
