Endemol’s Bigg Boss
which is slated to air from 17 August on Colors turns out to be nothing less than
a soap opera. After making headlines for having accepted the show, Faisal Khan
is reported to be out of the show even before the launch. Yet another inmate who
has been shown the door after allegedly having been finalised is Jhanvi
Kapoor. It is also alleged that miffed with the outcome Faisal and
Jhanvi have decided to take legal recourse. Jhanvi has even lodged a complaint
against Colors (channel) and Endemol (production house) at Oshiwara police station.
An
aggrieved Kapoor says, “I was never interested in doing the show but Anand Chauhan
of Endemol kept persuading me. I had already signed a deal with another company
for some shows but it was on my mother’s insistence that I decided to do Bigg
Boss2. Because of Bigg Boss2 I didn’t take up any other assignments.
But at the eleventh hour they told me that I am out of the show without any explanation.
They have wasted my one month only to dump me at the end of the day. I have filed
a N.C against the channel and Anand Chauhan of Endemol.”
Talking
about her future course of action, she says, “I am planning to put a stay on the
airing of the show. I will try to join Faisal Khan to move the court.”
Senior Inspector P.I. Crime Dattatraya Sankhe informs, “The aggrieved party
has filed a non-consignable complaint against Anand Chauhan from Endemol on 11
August 2008 stating that she has been dropped from the second season of Bigg
Boss just five days before the telecast. We have registered their complaint
and have asked them to take the matter to the court if they wish to.” Buzz
has it that Sherlyn Chopra (item-girl of Dard-e-disco fame) and Payal Rohtagi
(Bollywood actress) are two of the 14 contestants on the show. Despite
text messages and emails both Rajesh Kamat, CEO Colors and Deepak Dhar, Endemol
India Country Head remained unavailable for comment. We also tried
contacting Faisal Khan but his number was temporarily disconnected.
