The ‘ill’ effects of television

Acting is a laborious job - one which takes a toll on your mind and body. And if you’re a television actor then it becomes a daily grind. Rigourous hours of shooting, working in adverse conditions, improper food and much more leave actors vulnerable to all kinds of illness. The situation worsens during the monsoons.

Despite the sickness, our TV actors seldom take a break from work. Tellychakkar reports on few stars who been struck by the dreaded viral in recent memory.

Sakshi Tanwar

Not everyone finds heaven in paradise. Take the case of our iconic bahu Sakshi ‘Parvati’ Tanwar, who developed cold feet in the land of Shiva. It was reported that the paucity of oxygen affected Sakshi and hence she needed immediate medical attention. The reverberations of this could be felt in the Balaji territory with tales that Sakshi’s ill heath could also mark the end of Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki. While Sakshi is in better health now, Kahani’s fate still hangs in the balance.

Aastha Choudhary

She’s television’s most feeble child. Right from the moment, this Rajasthani chori has joined television; Aastha has struggled to keep herself fit. Recently, the actress was hospitalised for three days after being diagnosed with malaria. Luckily, Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na had six episodes in the bank thus giving Aastha enough time to recuperate.

Krushna Abhishek
Chi chi’s (Govinda) nephew has been hopping across various shows on television since we saw him dance in Nach Baliye 3. Presently, he’s matching steps with his pyaar Kashmeera Shah and yaar Mukul Dev on Kabhi Kabhi Pyaar, Kabhi Kabhi Yaar on Sony.

Krushna was struck by viral infection and so he wasn’t there to cheer his lady love on the sets of Kabhi Kabhi Pyaar… In this hour of crisis, his girl wanted to be with her man but professional commitments forced Krushna to nurse himself as he lay in a hospital bed. Kashmeera couldn’t hide her tears on the show.

Kushal Punjabi

Ravi Kissen fondly calls him Kamdev (cupid). However, our cupid was struck by the deadly viral that saw his body temperature soaring to 102 degree Celsius. However, Kushal braved these odds to dish out a flawless performance in Ek Se Badhkar Ek.

Tulika Upadhyay

She plays the NRI Lisa in Zee TV’s Vivaah. Well, it seems that acclimatising to Indian conditions is proving very difficult for rookie actor Tulika Upadhyay.

One fine day, she collapsed on the sets. The medicos revealed that her hemoglobin count was very low and soon she was admitted to a hospital. She was later diagnosed with malaria. Apparently, it was later learnt that there are too many mosquitoes on the sets. And to play it safe almost all the artists on the serial are bringing home cooked food.
