With
girls drooling over his six pack abs and charming smile in Splitsvilla,
Varun Saini couldn't have asked for more. The Chandigarh boy is currently staying
in Mumbai to look for opportunities in acting, anchoring and modelling. Varun
was just in his first year of B.A when Roadies 5.0 happened to him. And
now its Spiltsvilla again on MTV. Lets get up close and personal
with vivacious Varun exclusively on Tellychakkar
How
did Splitsvilla happen?
As soon as Roadies 5.0 got over, I was
approached by MTV for this show. They were looking for someone from Roadies and
I guess I fit the bill. When I heard the concept I was amazed. I also felt that
it is difficult to handle four girls together and how am I going to handle so
many girls but I took it as a platform. You seem to be quite
shrewd and strategy oriented on both Roadies 5.0 as well as Splitsvilla?
Are you the same in real life? In real life I can never play mind games
and strategies. It is only after looking at other Roadies playing games I got
into the strategy business. I can't let people manipulate me. I have to be shrewd
when needed. Your strategies in Roadies 5.0 did not work for
you. Weren't you apprehensive that they wouldn't in Splitsvilla either? One
has to play strategies in shows like these. If you don't play games and wait for
things to turn in your favour automatically then it is not going to happen. I
never really plotted in Splitsvilla until the game changed. When we were told
that only one boy and one girl would win the game, tables turned, the role of
me and Vishal was not merely restricted to judging. I had to strategise if I wanted
to win the game. From all the twenty girls on Splitsvilla which
one do you prefer the most? Bianka. She is bold and she is far different
from the cry baby types. Our thinking and ideologies match. Name
one girl from Splitsvilla whom you wouldn't date even for million bucks? Hannah.
She annoyed me to the core. She would bitch about me and Vishal when she was with
the girls and vice versa. What was your family's reaction to
a show like this? My parents were cool about it. As far as my relatives
are concerned, I don't care about them as long as my parents are happy with what
I am doing. You once told Yami that her body is like that of
an aunty. Isn't that insensitive? It just came out at the spur of that
moment. The minute I said that, I realised that it was wrong and I shouldn't have
said that. Where do you score over Vishal vis-a vis the girls? Vishal
concentrated only on Shradha whereas I put efforts for building a good chemistry
with every girl to be on the safer side. This is why I have an edge over him.
Do you really share a good equation with Vishal? Yes, I do. He is
a nice down- to- earth guy. What I like about him is that he is not fake. We spent
a lot of time together in Splitsvilla, so naturally we are close to each
other. What is your personal view point about girls wooing boys? Do
you think it is graceful on the girl's part to do so? I think it is
fine. I don't find it disgraceful. Today's youth follows their heart and do what
they feel like doing, so what is the harm in girl's wooing boys as long as girls
want to do so. Are you in touch with your fellow ex-Roadies? Yes.
As soon as the show got over we all burried the hatchet and turned good friends.
I hang out with those who are staying in Mumbai. Now, I am extremely close to
Vibhor. What next? I aspire to host Roadies some day;
that would be the best thing that could ever happen to me. I wish to join the
big screen or be a model or become a VJ, anything that comes my way
