20 girls, 2 guys, 1 war for love! is the tag line for the new MTV show Splitsvilla. It replaces Roadies 0.5 and claims to be a new romance reality show that will have all the masala ingredients of fun, sex, sin, betrayal…

The show is about 2 sexy (or so the channel would have us believe) guys looking for love among 20 ‘hot’ girls who compete not just for love, but fame, money and a chance to become MTV’s first couple VJ!

MTV has tied up with the fun film De Taali for this ‘twisted’ romance reality show. Actors Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh, Ayesha Takia and host Rannvijay came together at a press conference to launch the show. The queen of Punjabi hip-hop HardKaur had everyone grooving to her music as she performed the title song of Vodafone MTV Splitsvilla!

Every week the contestants will fight it out in competitions that are based on the theme of the week, 1st impressions to wicked n wild, bootylicious to real or fake…the themes get crazier and the competition more intense. The 3 lowest scorers of each round of competition will accompany the 2 boys on a date where the boys, through mutual consensus will dump one girl. On the other hand the highest scorer of the day gets to choose her date and spend a romantic evening with him!

Says channel programming head Ashish Patil, “After defining adventure travel reality in India with Roadies, we’re turning our focus towards romance reality with Splitsvilla. A show which will detonate all boundaries on romance, heart-breaks and competition pitting 20 girls and 2 boys in one war for love.”

The girls competing in the first season of Vodafone MTV Splitsvilla are Aarti Thaoker, Akansha Kanjilal, Annie Krislinzki, Anubha Agarwal, Bianca Mendonca, Bosky Bhatia, Hannah Sim, Heena Pardasani, Hoorzan Irani, Kanika Narbar, Minakshi Khanduri, Priyanka Sharma, Richa Singh, Ritu Kochhar, Shraddha Haribhai, Shruti Rawat, Simran Dhawan, Sneh Richa, Vani Sharma, and Yamini Batra. The guys, none other than Varun Sahni (from Roadies 5.0) and Vishal Karwal.

The contestants compete in a mansion in Goa with host Rannvijay taking them through each competition.
